More Snow

It has now snowed for the last three days straight.
But, we have fun whether it is rain, snow, or sunshine.
And here are some pictures to prove it.

Sweet...

The snowman Joy made...

Ah, He does not look too happy...

Winter Wonderland....No, not really. (Just the trees we see everyday from the deck!)

Snow in Sunny California

Yesterday it snowed almost all day. It made everything look so white and sparkly like Narnia. So of course Joy, Clark and Jill had to got out and play.

Reading

These are from last week one evening when we were all doing some reading together.
When we are reading there is always at least five of us doing it together so it is never boring.

It is fun to be artistic at the same time.

yup!

Jenny drinking lemon water.....

Yes, I'll have some lemon juice thank you.

Dress Up

Who said that big girls cannot dress up too?

Jill persuaded Joy and Christy to put on some dresses and scarves and somehow they got to acting out (for Cacey and Jenny) real-life characters, which are more funny when exaggerated in acting . . .

This one's character was not so sweet when acting . . .

Concentrating on the powder!

This was serious ( or, so we always say!)

Golly! look at Jilly's face

A True Story

Amazing Grace movie poster

William Wilberforce was the man who abolished the slave trade in Britain. Wilberforce was a pupil of John Newton, the writer of the song, Amazing Grace.

Amazing Grace tells the true story of William Wilberforce, the English politician who fought a long and arduous battle to have slavery abolished in England during the 19th century.

Not only is the movie a powerful story of a man who stands up for the human rights of a whole population of enslaved people in the 1700’s and 1800’s, it is also meant to bring attention to modern day slavery. Yes, even today there are millions of people who are enslaved in lands across the globe. In fact, according to The Amazing Change, an organization created to fight slavery, there are more people enslaved right now than there were back in the day of William Wilberforce. A sobering thought and one that should call us into action.

(In case you did not know, this is one of our favorite movies!)

Our Motto For 2008...

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
