For He Is Good

O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.
O give thanks unto the God of gods: for His mercy endureth for ever.
O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for His mercy endureth for ever.

To Him who alone doeth great wonders: for His mercy endureth for ever.
To Him that by wisdom made the heavens: for His mercy endureth for ever.
To Him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for His mercy endureth for ever.

To Him that made great lights: for His mercy endureth for ever:
The sun to rule by day: for His mercy endureth for ever:
The moon and stars to rule by night: for His mercy endureth for ever.

To Him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for His mercy endureth for ever:
And brought out Israel from among them: for His mercy endureth for ever:
With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for His mercy endureth for ever.

To Him which divided the Red sea into parts: for His mercy endureth for ever:
And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for His mercy endureth for ever:
But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for His mercy endureth for ever.

To Him which led his people through the wilderness: for His mercy endureth for ever.
To Him which smote great kings: for His mercy endureth for ever:
And slew famous kings: for His mercy endureth for ever . . .

And gave their land for an heritage: for His mercy endureth for ever:
Even an heritage unto Israel His servant: for His mercy endureth for ever.
Who remembered us in our low estate: for His mercy endureth for ever:
And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for His mercy endureth for ever.
Who giveth food to all flesh: for His mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for His mercy endureth for ever.

The Good Race

But none of these things move me;
nor do I count my life dear to myself,
so that I may finish my race with joy,
and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus,
to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
~Acts 20:24~
. . . let us run with patience the race that is set before us . . .
~Hebrews 12:1~
I returned, and saw under the sun,
that the race is not to the swift,
nor the battle to the strong . . .
but time and chance happeneth to them all.
~Ecclesiastes 9:11~

I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.

Happy Birthday Jenny!

The name
"Jennifer"
means:

White;
Fair Lady;
White Wave.

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?

~Song of Solomon 6:10~

After this I beheld, and , lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the Throne and unto the Lamb . . .

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

~Revelation 7~

Love you Jenny!

Bike Crash

Imagine flying down a hill on a dirt bike at 20 mph and thinking how great it is to be flying fast through the air until all of the sudden you remember you have to make a sharp turn shortly. . .
You hit the breaks on the handles to slow down for the turn, except you hit the breaks too fast and hard and you end up FLIPPING head over heels with a heavy dirt bike landing on top of you while sliding down the concrete hill. You bruise your muscles and scrape your skin as you are sliding to ease the pressure of landing straight on your shoulder and thigh.

Knowing everyone is going to be running out to see if you are okay you quickly heave the heavy bike off your body to examine your injuries and find bloody deep scraped marks on the side you landed on.
Joy who was watching it from the top of the hill said it looked really cool, but Christy said it hurt really bad.

Afterwords when Christy was getting all bandaged up and sympathized over, someone said, "Next time, when you need attention just say, 'I need some attention' instead of getting yourself bike wrecked!"

Endurance

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
~James 1:2-3~

The credit [of a continuing free country] belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who knows the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy cause; his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat.
~Teddy Roosevelt~

"Whenever any form of government is destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government in such form as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.”
~Declaration of Independence, 1776~

“A lie has speed, but truth has endurance.”
~Edgar J. Mohn~

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Jeremiah Is . . .

Twenty-Five!

The name
"Jeremiah"
means:

Exalted of the Lord;

God will raise up;

God will set free;

Yahweh has uplifted;

Yahweh has appointed.

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

The Female Of The Species

Here is another poem that we like besides these two. "The Quitter" and "Carry On!" are only some of our favorite poems.

When the Himalayan peasant meets the she-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster, who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail.

For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

When Nag the basking cobra hears the careless foot of man,
He will sometimes wriggle sideways and avoid it if he can.
But his mate makes no such motion where she camps beside the trail.

For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

When the early Jesuit fathers preached to Hurons and Choctaws,
They prayed to be delivered from the vengeance of the squaws.
'Twas the women, not the warriors, turned those stark enthusiasts pale.

For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Man's timid heart is bursting with the things he must not say,
For the Woman that God gave him isn't his to give away;
But when hunter meets with husbands, each confirms the other's tale—

The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Man, a bear in most relations—worm and savage otherwise,—
Man propounds negotiations, Man accepts the compromise.
Very rarely will he squarely push the logic of a fact
To its ultimate conclusion in unmitigated act.
Fear, or foolishness, impels him, ere he lay the wicked low,
To concede some form of trial even to his fiercest foe.

Mirth obscene diverts his anger—Doubt and Pity oft perplex
Him in dealing with an issue—to the scandal of The Sex!
But the Woman that God gave him, every fibre of her frame
Proves her launched for one sole issue, armed and engined for the same;
And to serve that single issue, lest the generations fail,

The female of the species must be deadlier than the male.

She who faces Death by torture for each life beneath her breast
May not deal in doubt or pity—must not swerve for fact or jest.
These be purely male diversions—not in these her honor dwells—
She the Other Law we live by, is that Law and nothing else.
She can bring no more to living than the powers that make her great
As the Mother of the Infant and the Mistress of the Mate.

And when Babe and Man are lacking and she strides unclaimed to claim
Her right as femme (and baron), her equipment is the same.
She is wedded to convictions—in default of grosser ties;
Her contentions are her children, Heaven help him who denies!—
He will meet no suave discussion, but the instant, white-hot, wild,
Wakened female of the species warring as for spouse and child.

Unprovoked and awful charges—even so the she-bear fights,
Speech that drips, corrodes, and poisons—even so the cobra bites,
Scientific vivisection of one nerve till it is raw
And the victim writhes in anguish—like the Jesuit with the squaw!
So it comes that Man, the coward, when he gathers to confer

With his fellow-braves in council, dare not leave a place for her
Where, at war with Life and Conscience, he uplifts his erring hands
To some God of Abstract Justice—which no woman understands.
And Man knows it! Knows, moreover, that the Woman that God gave him
Must command but may not govern—shall enthral but not enslave him.
And She knows, because She warns him, and Her instincts never fail,

That the Female of Her Species is more deadly than the Male.

~Rudyard Kipling~
